What if… Nigeria could increase the potential of an entire generation by allowing girls access to education and agency over their own bodies?

Poverty and unplanned pregnancy are a daily reality for many of Nigeria’s young women. Although the vision of greater education and a more prosperous future are pervasive, there are few, if any paths for youth to achieve these dreams. Over an extended engagement, our team collaborated with local and international organizations to conceptualize, design, and launch a nation-wide program aimed at providing Nigeria’s girls safe spaces to develop marketable professional skills, learn about reproductive health, and access services.

9ja Girls goes beyond method uptake. It makes girls know what life is. It makes them sit down and think about where they are coming from, where they are, and where they are going.
